DUNCANVILLE, TX, March 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Tracey L. Yothers, OD, Optometrist with Duncanville Eye Associates, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in ocular healthcare.

Specialized in pediatric optometry, Dr. Tracey L. Yothers lends over 15 years of industry experience to Duncanville Eye Associates. For the past 10 years, she has contributed her expertise to the practice and is responsible for conducting eye examinations and diagnosing health conditions including strabismus and amblyopia. Dr. Yothers also sees pediatric patients at Irving EyeCare and serves as a contract optometrist for a variety of additional practices.

Over the course of her career, Dr. Yothers has garnered a reputation for her expansive knowledge of binocular vision and eye examinations and screenings. She has lectured extensively at various conventions and institutions of higher learning. Most recently, she spoke at the Texas Optometric Association's 101st Annual Convention in 2001 on vision rehabilitation. Other engagements have included lectures at the Ohio State University, College of Optometry on pediatric and binocular vision eye examinations, the American Academy of Optometry Convention in San Francisco, and the University of Houston, College of Optometry. Dr. Yothers is also involved in ocular research, the findings of which have been published in Optometry: Journal of the American Optometric Association.

For her efforts in the field of optometry, Dr. Yothers has received a number of awards and distinctions. In addition to her most recent honors from Cambridge Who's Who, she was recognized by the Duncanville Lion Club with an appreciation award for volunteer services at the Lions Sight and Tissue Foundation eye clinic for needy children. She was awarded with the George N. Holcomb Memorial Scholarship by the Michigan College of Optometry for further continuing education in preparation for a career in optometric education or research and the Joseph D. Sasaki Scholarship for academic excellence and service to the school.

Dr. Yothers holds a master's degree in physiological optics from the University of Houston, College of Optometry, earned in 1998. She completed her residency in pediatric optometry and binocular vision in 1997 and earned her doctor of optometry from Ferris State University, Michigan College of Optometry in 1995. She also holds a bachelor of science in visual sciences. Dr. Yothers is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is a member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the Golden Key National Honor Society.
