As Owner of Richard Watt Optometrist, his own private practice, and throughout his brilliant 20 year career, Richard has consistently displayed the passion, dedication and professionalism necessary to be among the best.

Richard is the longest practicing independent optometrist in Hervey Bay. He established his practice in 1989 with the concept of always providing honest, friendly and professional service. Utilizing the most cutting edge equipment available in the area and constantly updating his own skills and knowledge, Watt provides excellent care to his patients on a regular basis.

Watt provides a wide variety of eye care services including comprehensive professional eye examinations, advice and assistance with glasses and contact lenses, vision training and eye exercises, and co-management of eye health and eye disease. Richard has extensive experience in Lasik surgery as well.

Richard Watt Optometrist is a member of the Rotary Club and Inner Wheel. They sponsor numerous local sporting, social and support clubs. They are also the only local supporter of the Lions Low Vision Club. In addition, the practice is the only one in the area that is fully accredited, as assessed by QIP to the highest standards of Optometry Australia.

Watt attained a Bachelor's Degree in Optometry from the University of New South Wales. He greatly enjoys spending time with his family in the time away from his busy schedule.
