Dr. John M. DeVaro celebrates nearly 20 years in the ophthalmology field
SAVANNAH, GA, August 24, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. John M. DeVaro, Pediatric Ophthalmologist for Children's Eye Institute of Savannah, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of pediatric ophthalmology.
An expert in pediatric opthalmology and strabismus, Dr. DeVaro is responsible for treating children by focusing on their development of the visual system, various diseases that disrupt visual development, ocular diseases and diagnosing and treating amblyopia and strabismus.
Attributing his success to his hard work, Dr. DeVaro became involved in his profession because he wanted to have the opportunity to both see patients in an office setting, as well as perform surgical work. He is qualified to perform complex eye surgery and manage children's eye problems using glasses and medications.
Dr. DeVaro received his MD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988. He is a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He supervises the Ophthalmology curriculum for the pediatric residents at Memorial University Medical Center and is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Mercer University School of Medicine.
